Summary: Mint meets up with The Purple Haired Girl to go for adate drive on their scooters. (She's waiting at the house of an old lady who they are both familiar and friendly with, but the memory only features her for a minute.)
Mint leads them around on broken down roads, by the sea, through fields of tall grass, over hills- up down and all around. She picks their route somewhat randomly, changing directions on a whim, but she seems comfortable and familiar with the area. She takes them up to a ridge to show her companion a valley filled with water, explaining that it's actually the sea which has found its way far inland. They stop at a roadside vending machine and grab some drinks before heading to their final destination, the tallest hill in the area.
They sit by the remains of a low wall and chat idly about this and that while they drink, mostly Mint telling the other girl little things about the area, the types of plants that grow there, etc etc. She mentions that she comes there quite often, because it's the highest point around and she loves high places.
Eventually they lapse into comfortable silence. It's a nice day, the sun is warm, there's a light breeze...without realizing it, Mint lays down and begins to doze off. As she's drifting to sleep, the other girl says something, but Mint only half-hears it, unsure if it was actually said or she only dreamed it:
"We were made from sounds and scents...I don't have any examples, but..."
Mint quietly mutters an agreement, and falls asleep.
She wakes up some time later to find that the sun is already setting. She jumps up, flustered and embarrassed and stuttering apologies while the other girl just smiles and waves it off. They drive back to the shop together and she continues to apologize as they park the bikes and head inside.
Reaction(s):
-This chapter takes place from Kokone's POV, so the narration boxes are her thoughts and can't be heard in the memory, obviously.
-Mint also doesn't hear the last thing she says ("I want to live here").
-All names are blurred out again!
-"We were made from sounds and scents"???
-Did I dream that or did she really say it, what the heck does that even mean
