Memory 8

Memory: Story 111: Plug
Category: Neutral Trivial
Game Won: Day 134, Bone Witch

Pages: Here

Summary: Mint sits out in the grass by her scooter, sleepily polishing some plugs. She recalls how busy the cafe was recently, and how rare that is (apparently business isn't very booming, which makes sense since she appears to live out in the middle of nowhere). She thinks about how she has "a strange ability to sense patterns" and that it's telling her that there will be no customers today. Absolutely none at all!!!

Please dear god let there be no customers today I'm so tired

She continues checking out the scooter's engine, but she's terrible with machines and doesn't really know what to do with it. All she knows how to do is change the oil and polish the spark plugs. When she's done with that, she takes it out for a drive that ends up lasting into the afternoon. She stops for a while to look out across the remains of a town, slowly being buried by the sea.

When she goes to leave, the bike backfires and won't start. She polishes the plugs until they shine, but it doesn't help at all, leaving her stranded there. But...after a while, she feels the urge to try it again, and the engine catches.

Somehow, she could just sense that it would.

Reaction(s):
-Boy I suck at machines
-But there's a strange, almost spiritual affinity with the bike, even though she doesn't understand the technical aspects of it
-The cafe is very rarely busy
-MORE RUINS
